We’re excited to share an important update about the Solarvista mobile app. After years of reliable service from our V8 app, we’re now preparing to roll out Solarvista Mobile V9—a major behind‑the‑scenes upgrade designed to future‑proof the platform and pave the way for powerful new features coming throughout 2026.

Built for the Future: Moving from Xamarin to .NET MAUI

While V9 won’t introduce functional changes right away, it represents a significant technical evolution. The app has been rebuilt on Microsoft’s .NET MAUI framework, replacing the older Xamarin technology used in V8.

Why does this matter?

  MAUI is Microsoft’s modern, actively developed cross‑platform framework, ensuring Solarvista Mobile remains supported and secure for years to come.

Android Rollout Begins Towards End January 2026

We’re planning to begin the Android rollout of V9 in towards end of January. The update will replace the existing V8 app once it becomes available through the Google Play Store. We will then move on to the iOS app update.

There are no functional changes in this release however there are some very minor visual changes (hardly noticeable). Your workflows, screens layouts, and processes will remain exactly the same. This update is all about strengthening the core of the app so we can deliver more in the future.

Solarvista Preview

This preview installs alongside your existing Solarvista app. This Preview app is a separate app that is for pre-testing purposes only; it will be deleted in due course. We recommend, if you can, to test this on a separate device from normal device so save confusion. You should test the app using a test work item/workflow/forms etc not a production/live work item. Remember, data updated in one app will not sync to another. Forms completed in one app will not show in the other, so please test with a test work item and complete this work item fully on the Preview app to test.

Tested Thoroughly—In‑House and by Customers

Before making V9 available, we carried out extensive in‑house testing to ensure stability and performance. We also invited a group of customers to try early builds, and their feedback has been invaluable. Many organisations have already tested the new version and confirmed that it works seamlessly with their existing workflows.

A Solid Foundation for What Comes Next

Solarvista Mobile V9 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. While this release focuses on future‑proofing, the upgrades it enables will start to appear throughout 2026—bringing new capabilities, improved usability, and more flexibility for field teams.
